Red Line Extension

_DSC7924.jpg

This project has been more than 60 years in the making, shaped by the dedication of pivotal residents, organizations, stakeholders, and community partners. With the first groundbreaking commencing this past year, it represents more than development it is a vehicle for reinvestment in an area where dilapidation has long overshadowed promise. This moment marks a renewed commitment to restoring hope, driving opportunity, and building a stronger future for our community.

The Red Line Extension will extend the CTA’s Red Line from its current terminus at 95th/Dan Ryan to 130th Street, adding 5.5 miles of track and four new fully accessible stations near

103rd Street, 111th Street, Michigan Avenue, and 130th Street Chicago Transit Authority+1.

Each station will have bus, bike, pedestrian, and park-and-ride connections, serving as economic anchors for surrounding neighborhoods.
